For more than a century, Golf Canada’s partnership with member clubs has been critical to the health of golf in Canada. As we look ahead to the 2017 season, please accept my sincere thank you for all that your club does in support of our wonderful game.
On Saturday, February 25, 2017, Golf Canada's Board of Directors, staff and volunteer committees along with our provincial and national association partners will convene in Toronto, Ontario for our Annual General Meeting. In accordance with our association bylaws, please find enclosed the Notice of Meeting, Golf Canada's Nominating Report and your proxy.
As the National Sport Federation, we are committed to programs that introduce more participants to the sport; building pride and a sense of community around golf; developing world-class athletes and future heroes of our sport; and ensuring that golf maintains its status as the most popular sport in Canada. Our efforts in these areas are only possible with the continued support of our membership.
Together with the provincial golf associations along with industry partners such as the golf course owners, PGA of Canada professionals, club managers and course superintendents, Golf Canada is working on behalf of our member clubs to ensure the health and sustainability of our sport. Golf is competing with other recreational activities for the attention of Canadians. Welcoming new golfers, increasing rounds played and delivering quality golf experiences for all enthusiasts is a goal shared by the entire industry.
Together with our staff and volunteers, Golf Canada is proud to represent a membership that includes close to 310,000 golfers at more than 1,400 member golf clubs from coast to coast. Thank you for sharing in the celebration of our great game in your community.
Yours sincerely,
Roland Deveau President Golf Canada
